the worlds a little blurry

The World’s A Little Blurry: July 7

There were days when I thought nothing had changed in my life—that I had remained the same person since day one.

But when I stopped to look back, I realized change had been happening quietly all along.

I finished the four series in my Writer’s Nook. I shared seven poems in The Shelf Series, continued growing Inkspiration, revisited my Dear Self and Open Letters, and, little by little, learned to build a life that feels more like my own.

I’ve always thought that the world’s a little blurry.

Sometimes healing doesn’t arrive with fireworks. Sometimes it comes so quietly that we mistake it for an ordinary day. One step, one reflection, one small reminder at a time, I began to see that I wasn’t standing still—I was becoming.

Some days don’t change your life in extraordinary ways. They simply remind you that healing can be measured in quieter things. Looking back, I realized the world hadn’t changed overnight; I had simply learned to notice the light that had been there all along.

This morning was no different.

I woke up. Did everything I usually do.

I wrote in my journal. Worked on stories. Revised poems. Added a few lines to old letters. Read a few pages. Then I started again.

For the longest time, I thought these routines were ordinary. Repetitive, even. But perhaps they were never just routines. Perhaps they were the quiet ways I kept choosing myself.

Words have always felt like my lifeline. They flow onto paper the way blood flows through my veins—steady, unseen, yet keeping every part of me alive. Writing has never simply been something I do. It has become the language through which I understand my life.

Lately, I’ve been organizing my Clairvoyance: Tossing It All for the World to See poetry collection.

And somewhere between sorting old drafts and rereading forgotten pages, I felt something I hadn’t expected.

Peace.

The thought stopped me in my tracks.

These poems and letters that I’ve been collecting for over a decade… they’ll soon become a real book.

For years, they existed only in notebooks, computer folders, and unfinished dreams. Soon, they’ll exist on paper, held by hands other than my own.

Are you kidding me?

The thought still feels unbelievable.

And yet, every part of me knows it’s coming.

I can almost feel it.

The relief.

The hope.

The quiet pride that comes from knowing you didn’t give up on the life you imagined for yourself.

I’ve spent the past several months working relentlessly—researching, planning, saving, searching for the right opportunities, and doing everything I could to move this dream closer to reality.

I think I’m almost there.

Not because everything is finished, but because I can finally see how far I’ve come.

Today, I want to honor the process that brought me here.

It wasn’t easy.

There were days filled with hesitation, doubt, and fear—the same fears I wrote about throughout my Writer’s Nook series. There were moments when I questioned whether any of this would ever become real.

But somewhere along the way, hesitation became conviction.

Doubt slowly gave way to hope.

Now, when I picture these thoughts and poems living inside a book, I don’t feel fear anymore.

I feel freedom.

Looking back, I realize it wasn’t only the milestones that shaped this dream.

It was every tiny revision.

Every sentence I rewrote.

Every word I replaced.

Every afternoon spent staring at a blinking cursor.

Even the days when all I managed to do was change a single tense or rearrange a paragraph mattered more than I understood at the time.

Those ordinary days were never empty.

They were quietly building the life I wanted.

And today, I want to pay homage to all of them.

To the extraordinary days that filled me with inspiration.

And to the ordinary ones that taught me discipline.

To the version of myself who doubted everything.

And to the version of myself who kept believing anyway.

Every poem I shared in The Shelf Series reminded me that I was one step closer than I had been the day before.

Now that seven poems have found their place in the world, I finally feel ready to begin another chapter.

That’s why today I’m sharing The World’s a Little Blurry.

Because I’ve learned that transformation rarely announces itself.

It happens quietly.

One page.

One reflection.

One ordinary day at a time.

If there’s one thing this season of my life has taught me, it’s this:

Even when nothing seems to be changing, something probably is.

You may not notice it today.

You may not understand it tomorrow.

But somewhere beneath the surface, your life is slowly rearranging itself into something you once prayed for.

One day, you’ll look back and realize that the days you thought were uneventful were the very days that carried you here.

The slow days.

The quiet days.

The ordinary days.

They mattered.

They always did.

And perhaps that’s the greatest lesson of all.

Sometimes, the world isn’t blurry because there’s no light.

Sometimes, it’s simply because we haven’t yet realized how much brighter it has already become.
