About Me

Hi, I’m Joy Clarice Dasag Luwang—but you can call me JC. Among family and friends, I go by Joy, though some still call me Clarice or Salomé.

Who is Joy Clarice?

“I am a writer who fell in love with reading first, then found my voice on paper.”

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, a field rooted in precision and accuracy. My academic years trained me to observe carefully, work efficiently, and write with clarity. The academe taught me structure. The laboratory taught me patience.

But writing has always been the quiet pulse beneath it all.

My Journey in Writing

Before fully stepping into my profession, I served as Editor-in-Chief of our high school publication for four years and our college publication for two consecutive years. In those years, I learned that words carry weight, that stories shape spaces, and that there is something deeply freeing in nurturing voices—including your own.

Today, I work full-time as a Medical Technologist. By day, I examine samples under a microscope. By night, I examine thoughts, memories, and emotions with the same careful lens. Writing became my in-between space—a bridge between the world I navigate and the quiet of my own mind. It is where art meets vulnerability, where the weight of societal obligations gives way to the freedom of creativity.

Writing is both a personal sanctuary and a playground—a place where my creativity and honesty coexist beyond the pressures of daily life.

About This Website

This website is a home for the stories I once kept hidden, the poems I hesitated to share, and the letters written to heal, reflect, and remember. I write because I believe words can sit beside someone in their quietest moments. One day, I hope to publish my own works. For now, I begin here.

“My quirks are worth writing about. My stories are alive—I let them breathe. The page is waiting. Whatever's in my mind, it'll be cooler on paper. My stories are waiting to be told.”
