The world’s a little blurry but God always finds a way to remind me to trust Him.
This morning began quietly. I woke up earlier than usual. I took a bath. I spent time in prayer.
Then I opened my laptop, ready to write another reflection for The World’s a Little Blurry. The words were beginning to come together when my phone buzzed.
It was my younger sister.
She asked if I could help her prepare for her Sunday School message. She had been assigned to teach Genesis 24, and she wanted to hear my thoughts about the passage.
So I stopped writing.
I closed the document I had been working on, paused the music playing in the background, and opened my Bible instead.
Sometimes, interruptions are invitations.
As I slowly read through Genesis 24, I found myself drawn into a story I had read many times before. Abraham entrusted his servant with finding a wife for Isaac. The servant prayed for God’s guidance. Rebekah responded with kindness and generosity before she even knew she was becoming part of God’s covenant story.
What struck me wasn’t simply the love story between Isaac and Rebekah.
It was God’s quiet providence woven through every ordinary detail.
Abraham trusted God’s promise. The servant trusted God’s leading. Rebekah responded in faith and obedience.
And behind every conversation, every journey, every prayer, and every seemingly ordinary event, God was already accomplishing His purpose.
No one in the story could see the ending.
But God could.
As I explained the chapter to my sister, I realized that perhaps God wasn’t only preparing her Sunday School lesson. Perhaps He was preparing my heart as well.
Lately, my days have looked different.
Aside from writing, I’ve also been reaching out to people about the work I’ve recently begun. I’ve been sending messages to friends and acquaintances, introducing myself, offering help, and hoping to connect with future clients.
Some messages were delivered.
Some were left on “seen.”
Some were never opened.
A few received warm replies.
Many did not.
If I’m being honest, every unanswered message has a way of making me question myself.
Am I bothering people?
Am I doing enough?
Will this ever work?
Today, I realized something.
This is simply what the journey looks like.
Every worthwhile calling asks something from us. Every meaningful dream requires perseverance. Whether you’re building a business, writing a book, applying to medical school, or stepping into a new season of life, rejection and silence are often part of the process.
Nothing meaningful has ever been easy.
And perhaps it was never meant to be.
Yet while I was worrying about outcomes, God gently redirected my attention back to Genesis 24.
That chapter isn’t merely about finding a bride for Isaac. It is about trusting a God who faithfully goes ahead of His people.
A God who prepares what we cannot yet see.
A God who answers prayers in ways that often become clear only in hindsight.
Maybe that’s what I needed to remember today.
Not that every message I send will receive a reply. Not that every opportunity will immediately bear fruit. But that my responsibility is faithfulness.
The results have always belonged to God.
Looking back now, I don’t think my sister interrupted my morning.
I think God did.
Through a simple message asking for help, He reminded me of something I had quietly forgotten.
I don’t have to carry every burden by myself.
I don’t have to force open every door.
I don’t have to panic whenever progress feels slow.
God’s providence has never depended on my ability to control every outcome.
His faithfulness has never failed.
If He could orchestrate every detail of Abraham’s servant’s journey, if He could prepare Rebekah long before she knew Isaac existed, then surely He already knows the people I will meet, the opportunities waiting ahead, and the prayers that have not yet been answered.
He sees the ending.
I only see today’s page.
And maybe that’s enough.
So I’ll keep writing.
I’ll keep reaching out.
I’ll keep planting seeds, even when I cannot yet see the harvest.
Not because success is guaranteed on my timeline, but because God has proven Himself trustworthy time and time again.
Harvest always comes in its proper season.
Perhaps not as quickly as we’d like.
Perhaps not in the way we imagined.
But always according to the wisdom of the One who sees what we cannot.
Today, I’m grateful.
Grateful for my sister.
Grateful for Scripture.
Grateful that God has a way of speaking through ordinary interruptions.
Because every time the world feels a little blurry, every time I begin to wonder whether I’m walking in the right direction, God always seems to place a small light along the path.
